The inaugural Rev-Up for Little Ones Motorcycle Charity Ride was held April 10, 2010 at the Flint
Energies office at 900 GA Hwy 96 in Warner Robins. Forty-four motorcycles revved-up for the 80-mile ride through Middle Georgia in support of local children in need of a bright Christmas. Weather was perfect after a chilly morning start in Warner Robins. Stops included motorcycle shops in Byron and Hawkinsville and the Mennonite Restaurant in Montezuma. This was the first fundraiser open to the public since the employee-inspired Christmas charity starting giving toys to needy Flint Energies members in 2006. More than $1,000 was raised with the support of the public participating in the Rev-Up event. Coordinators Ed Hawkins and Glen Musselwhite saw their idea through with soliciting sponsorships and door prizes to planning the route and scheduling law enforcement traffic support. Fifteen Flint Energies employees volunteered to work the event with several others riding in support of the charity. Special thanks to sponsors Flint Energies, ICB General Contractors, American Patriots, The Leatherman, Morse Customs, Michael J. Moore Trial Lawyer and Jugheads Cycles. This motorcycle ride raised funds for Linemen for Little Ones and Food for the Needy. More than $17,000 has been raised through internal fundraisers since the start of the toy charity in 2006. Linemen for Little Ones and Food for the Needy benefits disadvantaged families at Christmas. Flint Energies employees developed these charities out of concern for those they serve. Food boxes and toys are donated to internally selected families in need each December. More than 50 families have been given a brighter Christmas since the toy charity began four years ago. Each year, more than 30 families are given food boxes totaling countless families who have benefitted from Food for the Needy since the food charity began more than 30 years ago.
