Renovation of Dillard Hall
The Renovation of Dillard Hall is a science lab addition to an existing historic building in which classes were being taught while construction took place. The work of the project consisted of a 1 story; 12,000 square foot laboratory addition for Middle Georgia College located in Cochran, Georgia. The addition includes 4 teaching laboratories for chemistry and biology with associated support rooms and offices. All of the laboratories include fume hoods and wood laboratory case work throughout. The structure of the building consists of slab on grade foundation with a conventional steel structure and metal roof trusses. The building entry, which is covered, is constructed with precast concrete columns and spandrels. The precast concrete continues at all sides of the building along with the brick veneer.
