Warner Robins-based International City Builders, Inc. has been selected as the design-builder for the new Little League Southeastern Regional Headquarters and tournament stadium in Warner Robins.
The company will team up with Perry-based JMA Architecture, Inc. to provide design services for the project, according to a news release.
The new $5.5 million facility will be located on Snellgrove Drive between Cohen Walker Drive and Hunt Road south of GA 96. It will be adjacent to the recreation complex now used by Warner Robins American Little League. The 26-acre site was donated by Houston County.
“There are three major portions of work there,” said Mark Christianson, Director of Construction. “One is the site work….doing the grading and putting the infrastructure in place, which has started.”
Then construction will begin in August on the administration building, and it is expected to be completed by the end of year, Christianson said. “Little League is going to move into that building in January,” he said.
Work on the 3,500-seat stadium is expected to begin in August with completion set for April 2010.
“We feel very fortunate and very excited about the opportunity to do this for the Little League,” Christianson said. “We look forward to doing it, and I think it means a lot to Houston County and surrounding areas to get something like international tournaments here.”
The headquarters will serve as the administrative office for the Little League baseball and softball activities for the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
International City Builders was founded In 1990 by Daryl Long and Ronnie Blalock, and it has about 30 employees.
